Heed University, College of Psychoanalysis
Heed University is having its third New York conference on Sunday, November 16, 2003, at the American Conference Center.  Our exciting topic is entitled:  "Nourishing, Nurturing and Food for Thought".  We are delighted to have Eric Asimov, noted New York Times food columnist, as our keynote speaker.  He has many interesting ideas to relate to the psychoanalytic community based on his professional observations as a writer about food and his commentary on WQXR which airs every weekday morning.
Our panel will include Dr. Phyllis F. Cohen, Dr. Gerald Fishbein, Dr. Shirley Love and Dr. Michael Schaeffer.  The panelists, in addition to responding to Mr. Asimov's remarks, will address the following issues: the symbolic and nonverbal meanings of food; childhood development and food; working with eating disorders; and words and feelings as nourishment in the therapeutic setting.  For more details about the day and registration information  please call the school at 212-332-0905 or email: conference@heed.edu.
